So if Christina was Daem's second wife, and Jacob was an adult in 1397, and Alijt was alive until 1379, then Jacob was born to Alijt and not to Christina. He was certainly not born to Christina in 1372.
(Angevaare notes that Jacob was banned from Holland in 1393 due to his involvement in the Aleid van Poelgheest/Willem Cuser murders of 1392, further supporting the argument that his birth was (well) before 1379.)
I will add that I just noticed that Frans Angevaare noted that Jacob was banned from Holland in 1393 (so an even earlier mention) reinforcing the view that he was born well before 1379.
