3569 She was the regent of Holland from 993 until 1005 during the minority of her son Dirk III of Holland.

She was a daughter of Siegfried of Luxembourg and Hedwig of Nordgau. Her sister was Cunigunde of Luxembourg. She married Arnulf, Count of Holland.

On the death of her spouse in 993, she became regent of Holland during the minority of her son, Dirk III. She maintained control of the county with the support of her former brother-in-law, Emperor Henry II. On 20 September 993, Liutgard donated her properties at Rugge to Saint Peter's abbey of Ghent for the soul of her husband. According to Thietmar's Chronicle, possibly in June 1005, she made peace with the West-Frisians through mediation by Emperor Henry. Her son was declared mature in 1005, thus ending her mandate as regent.

The date of Lutgardis' death is not clear in view of conflicting sources including Annales Egmundani. It may well have been in 1005 or even later. She was buried in Egmont.

3570 Sigfried (or Siegfried) (c. 922 - 28 October 998) was count of the Ardennes and the first person to rule Luxembourg. He was an advocate of the abbeys of St. Maximin in Trier and Saint Willibrord in Echternach. His mother was Cunigunde who was a granddaughter of Louis II, king of France. Cunigunde had at least two husbands but Sigfried's father was most likely Count Palatine Wigeric of Lotharingia.

Sigfried is the ancestor of the first House of Luxembourg, the so-called House of Ardenne-Luxembourg. In turn, Sigfried's family is one branch of the larger House of Ardennes, which includes descendants of his mother Cunigunde.

Around 950, he married Hedwig of Nordgau (937-992), daughter of Eberhard IV of Nordgau. They had the following issue:

Henry I of Luxembourg
Siegfried, cited in 985
Frederick I, Count of Salm and Luxembourg, married Ermentrude of Gleiberg, daughter of Heribert I, Count of Gleiberg and Ermentrud (Imizi).

3583 So far, we have no records of where Aert was born or where he came from. Read more about that here: https://vanosnabrugge.org/rijswijk.htm

We have his last name "van Osenbruggen" added by default. We only know of him from his son's middle name.

Several internet sources have his wife's name as Lenige Steffens. There are no references for that. That name comes from the records of Sacheus van Osenbruggen (1861-1942). His grandson Sacheus Ben Anthonie (Jerry) van Osenbruggen told us that his grandfather paid someone to search old church records, but in Rijswijk they do not go back further than 1638.

We did however find a Lenige Stephens in the Rijswijk church records, dated 18 Aug 1639. Lenige is getting married to Gerrit Otten and a witness is Aert van Weli.

- Witness at her wedding: Peternel van Enskede (probably her mother).
- Arnoldus van Enschede, Johanna van Enschede, Catarina van Enschede, Godefridus van Enschede (siblings?).

3585 Some sources have her as the daughter of Jan Thonisz van Westrhenen and Wilhelmina Adriaanse Crekel. Look here: https://vanosnabrugge.org/genealogy/getperson.php?personID=I4127&tree=tree1
However, none of Neeltje's children are named after those "parents" or "grandparents".
The present pedegree is from a reliable source and makes much more sense.

Her name was often written as: van Westrheene(n).
Her ancestors originally came from a suburb called: de MARS. In the Middle Ages this suburb belonged to the (Utrecht) municipality of Rhenen ( this town is situated on the North bank of the river Rhine while the MARS is on the south). Everywhere along his frontiers the Bisshop of Utrecht had fortresses in the old days (strategically situated for instance: on the other side of a river if possible). Later the Earl/Duke of Gelderland took the MARS by surprise and declared from then on that the river Rhine was exactly the border between his territory and the Bisshop's. However, in either cas, de MARS is situated South West of the town called Rhenen. The origin of the familyname: WESTRHENEN should be clear now.

With her second husband (=Hendrik Budding) she made her last will in 1767 to prevent difficulties between the children of her first and second marriage. See: protocol no. 347 - Ochten - in 1767.
Remark: She died between 1767 and 1774 (=probably in 1772); for in 1774 Hendrik is called a widower then, when he sells a piece of land to one of his children. For details see : protocol no. 439 - Ochten in 1774.

They sailed from Rotterdam and after a voyage of about 3 months went directly to Chicago via the Erie Canal to Buffalo, and from there by way of the Lakes near the present site of Pullman about 20 miles south of Chicago where he farmed.

His wife died trying to cross the Calument River on ice. She was a midwife. Later Charles died and the Daniel Kuiper family took in the youngest Booi's and later moved to Michigan with them.

Eize Booi, Charles son, married Edith Margaret Marie Kuiper in 1859. He sold his farm on Calumet and moved to Danforth, IL. where he bought 135 acres.
